Welcome to the website of the Phelps County Collector. We hope you find the information provided helpful in understanding the property tax payment process.

The duties of a County Collector are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. The Office of County Collector is a county-wide elected position for a term of four years. The Collectorís Office is responsible for the collection and distribution of current and delinquent Real Estate and Personal Property taxes for distribution to various political subdivisions which have an authorized property tax levy. Phelps County Merchantís Licenses are also issued by the Collectorís Office.

The printing, sorting, stuffing and mailing of the current year tax statements begins in October after the assessment values and tax amounts have been verified by the County Clerk. These statements are normally in the mail in early November. If you do not have your bill by December 1st please contact us. Tax payments are due by December 31 of each year. After this date penalties and interest will be applied. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve the taxpayer of any obligation to pay taxes by the due date.

All information on your statement is obtained from the Phelps County Assessorís Office. If you have any corrections in spelling or address changes please contact the Assessorís Office.
