2022 Elections & Important Dates


  • There are only two ballot types this election to be used for nearly all voters (the exceptions being some military/overseas voters): BT 1, which has new House District 143 candidates, and BT 2, which has new House District 122 candidates. These ballots are the same on the back.
  • Absentee ballots may be mailed out between September 27, 2022 and October 26, 2022. Applications received before that time will be held.
  • Walk-in absentee voting will be available in the office during normal working hours when we are open (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., M-F) from Tuesday, September 27, through Monday, November 7 as well as Saturday, November 5 from 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Voters presenting at the polls or for in-person absentee voting shall, pursuant to a new law that has been passed, “…establish their identity and eligibility to vote” by presenting photo ID which would be one of the following:
    1. Nonexpired Missouri driver’s license;
    2. Nonexpired or nonexpiring Missouri nondriver’s license;
    3. A document satisfying all of the following: (a) The document contains the
      name of the individual to whom the document was issued, and the name
      substantially conforms to the most recent signature in the individual’s voter
      registration record; (b) The document shows a photograph of the individual;
      (c) The document includes an expiration date, and the document is not expired, or, if expired, the document expired after the date of the most recent general election (9/3/2020); and (d) The document was issued by the United States or the state of Missouri; or
    4. Any identification containing a photograph of the individual which is issued by the Missouri National Guard, the United States Armed Forces, including the Space Force, or the United States Department of Veteran Affairs to a member or former member of the Missouri National Guard or the United States Armed Forces, including the Space Force, and that is not expired of does not have an expiration date.
  • Persons without a form of personal identification as described above will have to vote a provisional ballot. [See RSMo 115.427]
  • Beginning October 25, 2022, a reason for voting absentee shall not be required.
  • The registration deadline for this election is October 12, 2022.

Legal Reasons For Voting by Absentee Ballot

Ballots must be done in BLACK INK ONLY.

In order to comply with the accessibility requirements of the Help America Vote Act, some polling places have changed.

Polling Places - If you are unsure what your polling place is, look at your Voter Identification Card, your voting ward is printed on it.

ATTENTION PHELPS COUNTY VOTERS. Due to the passage of Senate Bill 675 which became effective on August 28, 2002, all voters will be required to show approved identification before being allowed to vote in all future elections, beginning on November 5, 2002.
