Local Election Results

Important Dates:

The August 5, 2008 election will be a Primary Election.

The deadline to register to vote is Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 5 p.m.

Absentee ballots will be available on June 24, 2008 in the County Clerk's office.

The deadline to vote absentee in the County Clerk's office is Monday, August 5, 2008 at 5 p.m.  In accordance with election law, no ballots may be sent out or mailed out of the office after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, unless a voter is hospitalized after that time, in which case a deputized absentee team could deliver a ballot to the hospital.  Applications may be completed only by the voter or by the voter's next of kin.

Please call the office at 573-458-6115 for information about absentee voting by mail and for any other questions that you may have.

Legal Reasons for voting by absentee ballot

The County Clerk's office will be open Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 8am to Noon for absentee balloting.

Polling Places

In order to comply with the accessibility requirements of the Help America Vote Act, some polling places have changed.  All polling places will be open in the August 5, 2008 Primary Election in Phelps County.

Online Absentee Ballot Form
• Complete form, print, sign, and mail or fax the online absentee ballot request form. This request should be mailed to: Phelps County Courthouse, Attn: Carol Bennett County Clerk, 200 N Main St, Rolla Missouri 65401 USA, otherwise fax to 573-458-6119. You must sign this application! Not signing will impede the process.
   
• In order to be counted, absentee ballots must be received in the County Clerk's office, 200 N. Main St., Rolla, no later than 7:00 p.m on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.  Ballots may only be returned by the voter in person or by mail.

If you are unsure what your polling place is, look at your Voter Identification Card. Your voting ward is printed on it.

ATTENTION PHELPS COUNTY VOTERS. Due to the passage of Senate Bill 675 which became effective on August 28,2002, all voters will be required to show approved identification before being allowed to vote in all future elections, beginning on November 5, 2002.
